A Red Flag Fire Warning is in effect for today due to gusty winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels.
Winds will be gusting to 40 mph out of the southwest.
Conditions will be favorable for the rapid growth and spread of wildfire.
Smoke from fires currently burning in southwest Colorado and Arizona will once again be visible in the area today.
Salida and Buena Vista can expect a mostly sunny high of 85 today, an overnight low of 47.
The San Luis Valley will see a high of 81, a low of 45.
Leadville and Fairplay will warm up to 69, a low of 33.
A cold front will move in tomorrow bringing a good chance of afternoon and evening thundershowers for Thursday and Friday.
