The Custer County Sheriff’s Office has named the victim and suspect in Friday’s homicide investigation.
37-year-old Guillermo Gomez-Buenostro was arrested and booked into the Custer County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of 35-year-old Oscar Garcia-Gomez.
Custer County Sheriff Shannon Byerly said offices responded to a residence in Westcliffe 5:30 Friday morning after a report of an injured man. Deputies found three men, one who was unresponsive. The man later died from apparent knife wounds.
Sheriff Byerly said in a press release, “We currently have one party in custody and the second man is cooperating with the investigation.”
