Tuesday, July 28, 2020 COVID-19 By the Numbers

Chaffee County is reporting 3 new positive cases of COVID-19. 

They are a 24-year-old male, a 34-year-old male, and a 75-year-old male, bringing the total number of community cases to 36.

4 new cases involving Buena Vista Correctional Complex staff were reported over the weekend.  The number of cases at the Buena Vista Correctional Complex has risen to 189, including a total of 9 staff. 

Currently, Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center has no COVID-19 hospitalizations. 

Gunnison County is reporting 36 new positive cases from July 10 to July 21. 

The San Luis Valley is reporting 13 new positive COVID-19 cases.  Nine of those were from Alamosa county, and 2 each from Mineral and Saguache Counties.  There are currently 28 known active cases in the San Luis Valley.

All counties are reporting an uptick of positive cases of individuals in their 20’s.
