A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect.
Moderate to heavy snow will spread across the area through Friday. The brunt of the heavier snow will occur tonight through tomorrow. 5 to 7 inches of new snow will be possible for the lower elevations. Up to 2 feet will be possible over the higher terrain.
Travel will become difficult.
The Colorado Department of Transportation is warning that although crews will be out in force to battle the weather, travelers are urged to avoid or limit travel through Friday.
Road conditions will be treacherous across much of the state, with snow expected to bury the I-70 corridor from Golden to Vail and I-25 from Denver to Colorado Springs.
