Toxic Blue Algae Discovered at DeWeese Reservoir

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is warning the public about toxic blue algae at DeWeese Reservoir in Westcliffe.

Visitors are being told to avoid the water and not engage in any water-related activities, except for fishing. The algae can be harmful to people and pets upon contact, causing rashes and even death if consumed.
