Summer Time Road Construction Continues

Highway 285 remains closed between Antero Junction and Fairplay.  The detour is to take U.S. 24 at Antero Junction to Highway 9 to Fairplay.      The closure will be in place every Monday through Thursday through August.

The Colorado Department of Transportation continues construction on Highway 50 through Howard. The project includes the installation of slow-vehicle turnouts and passing lanes in both directions. Speeds are reduced to 40 mph through the work zone and a 10 feet width limit is in place. Work on the $4 million improvement project will continue through October.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be working on pavement marking this week on many state highways in Southeast Colorado. The goal is to allow lanes to be more easily identified in dark and inclement weather, to improve driver safety and reduce incidents. Highways affected will include US Highways 50, 160, and 285 as well as I-25.

Work will take place from 7 pm to 5 AM through Friday morning, and will not require any full lane closures, but drivers are asked to slow down.
