The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA) and the Collegiate Peaks chapter of Trout Unlimited are excited to offer an engaging stream ecology and fly-fishing program for middle school students in Buena Vista at the end of the month.

Stream Explorers is a four-day camp designed for 5th through 8th graders, focusing on stream ecology, fish anatomy and habitat, fly tying, and fly fishing. Students who complete all four sessions will be awarded a Trout Unlimited youth membership.

The camp dates are Monday and Tuesday, July 22, 23, 29, and 30. Sessions will be held in Buena Vista, and on the final day, shuttle transportation will be provided to a fishing location. This program is free, but registration is required at garna.org. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Dates for a similar program in Salida will be announced soon.
