Colorado released its back-to-school Covid health guidelines this week, largely aligning with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendations, including that unvaccinated children two and up wear masks.
Colorado Public Health was careful to add that these are not “statewide requirements,” only “evidence based best practices for local governments and schools.
When it comes to masking, the state wrote that, “the CDC recommends mask wearing for all unvaccinated individuals age two and older indoors” and suggested local public health agencies and school districts consider mask requirements.
The state also recommends physical distancing, Covid testing, contact tracing, targeted quarantining, and limited high-risk activity.
