Bright lights have been seen streaking through the skies of Colorado. While interesting, they aren’t, in fact, aliens.

The strings of lights spotted moving across the night sky are Starlink satellites launched by SpaceX.

Starlink satellites, first launched in 2019, are used to provide broadband internet to customers around the world. SpaceX has already launched more than 3,000 Starlink satellites into orbit and plans to launch even more: Late last year, the Federal Communications Commission approved SpaceX’s request to deploy 7,500 Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit, Space.com reports.

This website, created by James Darpinian, an engineer with Google, will drop a pin on a map near your location and tell you when and where Starlink can be seen. If the weather cooperates, the Starlink satellites will be visible again at approximately 9:30 pm tonight (July 17th), Tuesday, July 18th, at 9:50 pm, and again Wednesday, July 19th, at approximately 9:15 pm.
