Congratulations to the Salida High School girls’ swim team!
The team won the Tri-Peaks League Championship over the weekend. It is the first ever league championship in swimming for Salida.
The Salida Spartans set three new school records in the process, with freshman Emma Diesslin in the 100 yard fly, Elise Mishmash in the 100 yard breast and as a team, Diesslin and Mishmash would join Lily Lengerich and Hannah Rhude in the 400 Freestyle Relay to break that record as well.
Salida will now focus their attention on the state meet this weekend, with 11 girls heading to state with individual qualifying times and 1 additional girl coming in a relay.
State Qualifiers are: Lindsey Baroni, Allyna Bright, Jaesa Carlson, Emma Diesslin, Alex Hebert, Ember Hill, Lily Lengerich, Megan McMurry, Elise Mishmash, Hannah Rhude, Rebecca Russell, and Elena Wheeler.
The number one ranked Spartans will now go to the state competition this Friday and Saturday. Good Luck!
