Success greets Salida swimming at State prelims

It was a good day for the Salida Spartans in Thornton as their 12 swimmers took on the best in the state at the 3A level. The Spartans qualified swimmers for the finals tomorrow in almost every individual event and all but one relay.

  • 200 IM Relay – 2nd place (qualified)
  • 200 Freestyle – Elise Mishmash – 3rd (qualified), Allyna Bright – 19th (qualified), Hannah Rhude – 22nd (2nd alternate), Lindsey Baroni – 31st
  • 200 IM – Mimi McMurry – 29th, Elena Wheeler 39th
  • 50 Freestyle – Lily Lengerich – 12th (qualified)
  • 100 Butterfly – Emma Diesslin – 4th (qualified)
  • 100 Freestyle – Elise Mishmash – 1st (qualified), Lily Lengerich T10th (qualified)
  • 500 Freestyle – Allyna Bright – 14th (qualified), Hannah Rhude – 22 (alternate), Rebecca Russell – 38th
  • 200 Freestyle Relay – 1st (qualified)
  • 100 Backstroke – Emma Diesslin – 7th (qualified), Mimi McMurry – 26th, Lindsey Baroni – 40th
  • 100 Breaststroke – Ember Hill – 10th (qualified), Alex Hebert – 42nd
  • 400 Freestyle Relay – 23rd

Spartans qualify in 9 individual events and in two relay’s. Tomorrow’s finals begin at 3:30 in Thornton at the VMAC.
