The U.S. Forest Service has started the Threemile Creek prescribed burn.
The project is scheduled to continue through Tuesday, Oct. 17th. It involves burning over 2,000 acres between Eddy Creek and Browns Creek, about three miles west of Centerville. Temporary road closures are currently in place.
Smoke will be visible for several days.
