A settlement agreement has been reached in the second of two lawsuits against former Florence City Manager Mike Patterson and the second of three lawsuits against the City of Florence.

The former city employee, who will remain unnamed because she is an alleged victim of sexual harassment, will receive a payment of $140,000 from the city.

The settlement states that the “City and plaintiff agree that the payment may constitute damages on account of personal injury including mental anguish and emotional distress.

The city also has a responsibility to, “provide a neutral job reference for the plaintiff, consisting solely of the dates of her employment.”

The former employee, in return, agreed that, “she will not seek or apply for reemployment with the City of Florence.” The settlement also contains a non-disparagement clause that states, “The plaintiff agrees to make no disparaging, derogatory or defamatory statements about the city to the media.”
