The Salida School District has been informally informed by the Salida Police Department that the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office was conducting an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct of Mr. Anderson Horne, with an adult who was a former student. Mr. Horne, a teacher at Salida High School, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024.
To date the Fremont County Sheriff’s office has not released information to the Salida Schools for investigative purposes. Prior to the death of Mr. Horne, neither the schools nor administration were informed of which individual was being investigated or for what potential charge, until August 26th, 2024. No charges were formally filed.
