As the weather turns colder and we look ahead to the winter holiday season, one of Salida’s favorite traditions is about to begin! Salida’s Holiday Park will again feature more than 100 trees decorated by local families, nonprofits and businesses, on display from November 24 through early January.
Applications for those who want to adopt a tree are currently being accepted by Salida Sunrise Rotary, which coordinates Salida’s Holiday Park. Family/Individual/Memory trees cost $30, Nonprofit/service group trees cost $40, and business trees cost $75.
NEW this year – recognize your beloved pet(s)! We will have a designated 12-foot tree placed in Holiday Park that will display 4-inch acrylic ornaments filled with pictures of your favorite pet. When you have completed the Holiday Park Adoption Application and paid the $10 fee, this ornament may be picked up at the Salida Chamber of Commerce office. Fill it with pictures and bring it to the park from November 10-24 to hang on this unique tree.
Adoption Application forms are available 3 places: 1. Online by going to the link on www.SalidaSunriseRotary.com (click on 2024 Holiday Park on the left menu).
2. Stop by the Salida Chamber of Commerce, 406 W. Rainbow Blvd. (Highway 50, just east of the Salida Aquatic Center and Centennial Park)
3. In The Mountain Mail print editions in early November.
Tree decoration can be completed Nov. 10-24.
Proceeds from Holiday Park are used to fund scholarships for graduates from Salida School District who are attending college or vocational school.
