Salida Schools release an update regarding COVID-19.

First, our schools are all ready to make the shift to remote learning at any time should the need arise. This is a looming possibility with the increase in COVID cases due to the spread of the Omicron variant, and we ask that our community also be ready. Salida Schools’ focus on in-person learning continues and every effort will be put in place to keep students in-person, yet we encourage families to have a plan in place should there be a need to shift to remote learning.

Second, SHS boys’ and girls’ basketball and wrestling activities were put on a pause last week. Following COVID testing this morning, all students who tested negative today can return to practice and activities as scheduled for the week. The only change right now is to the high school girls’ basketball schedule – only the Varsity team will travel to James Irwin Charter on the 13th. Activities are all contingent on COVID case loads, both here and in the communities our athletes compete against.
