Salida School District Prepares For New School Year

The first day of school for the Salida School District is August 16th.

The district said all students are strongly encouraged to wear a mask, students can opt into a free, regular testing program, everyone riding a bus will be required to wear a mask on the bus, and all adult visitors to the school must wear a mask.

The school says that most importantly, if your child is sick, please keep them home.

Salida Superintendent David Blackburn said that Covid-19 continues to be a reality for our community, yet we go into the new school year knowing far more than we did 12 months ago, and the availability of a vaccine has drastically changed the battle against the disease.

Salida Schools strongly recommends a vaccine for all of those ages 12 and over.
