The Salida School Board will meet tonight beginning at 6 pm at the Kesner Building.
Board members will discuss the hot topic of facility use fees. There have been two community meetings recently discussing the topic, the latest was held last night.
Salida School Superintendent David Blackburn presented a new fee structure that sets the hourly rate for any facility at $120 per hour with the district subsidizing the fee any where from 100 to 35 percent. Personnel such as janitorial and food services would cost $35 per hour.
Blackburn also told those attending last night’s meeting about a new partnership with the City of Salida’s Recreation Department that would give qualifying participating groups an additional 15 percent savings off of the hourly rate.
School board members will consider the new fee schedule at their meeting tonight. The earliest the new schedule could be implemented in July 1.
