Salida Police Department’s K-9 Sarge Assists in Two Interagency Drug Arrests

Salida Police Department’s K-9 Sarge Assisted in drug arrests in Salida and Buena Vista.

On Feb. 24th, Salida PD’s K-9 unit was called to a location near Buena Vista to assist Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office and Buena Vista Police Department with a drug search. Sarge alerted and a search followed. Methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl were located. One arrest was made by Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office.

On Feb. 25th, Salida PD night shift stopped a vehicle. Sarge was deployed and alerted. A search of the vehicle revealed paraphernalia, cocaine, fentanyl and more than 2 ounces (58 grams) of methamphetamine. Both occupants were subsequently arrested.
