A Salida man, 59-year-old Patrick Horton, has died at Grand Canyon National Park. Park officials announced yesterday that Horton was on the 10th day of a non-commercial river trip along the Colorado River when members of his party discovered him deceased.
The National Park Service is currently investigating Horton’s death. He is the seventh person to die at the Grand Canyon since July 31st, and the 15th this year.
