Halloween celebrations are underway in Salida with Heart of the Rockies Halloween tomorrow evening in downtown Salida! From 5 to 8 p.m., F Street (from 3rd to 15th Street) will be closed for the festivities, featuring activities at Alpine Park and along F Street. Families can enjoy bouncy houses, carnival games, yard games, food trucks, and even meet Whiskers the Donkey.

Tonight, the Salida High School Student Council will host a Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the high school. A $20 entry fee benefits the council’s Christmas program.

This Halloween, the Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement remind everyone to celebrate responsibly. As part of the “Heat is On” DUI enforcement initiative, saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints will be active from now through November 4 to remove impaired drivers from the roads. Enjoy Halloween safely by planning for a sober ride home.
