The Salida City Council will hold a regular meeting tonight beginning at 6 pm in the Touber Building.

Council will conduct a public hearing on a proposed ordinance to amend Chapter 16 of the Municipal Code regarding Accessory Buildings and Dwelling Units.  Under the new definition of ADU’s, the maximum living space would increase and the two people per unit maximum would be removed.

Under New Business, three resolutions are in front of council members: appointing a Municipal Prosecutor, approving the 2020 fee schedule and joining Colorado Communities for Climate Change.

At a work session last night, the Salida City Council heard that they spend more on short term rental fees than they collect.

Gabe Preston of RPI Consultants recommended that the city raise the short term rental renewal fee to $270, up from $100, and raise the fee for a new applicant from $350 to $400.

Council also heard a presentation about a proposed mixed use development being planned for Vandaveer Ranch.

Confluent Park would be a 15-acre development that would include 38 lots with 289 units consisting of single family homes, low-income apartments, townhomes and condos.

Confluent Park will now go before the Planning Commission. Construction could begin late next year.
