The Salida City Council will conduct a regular meeting tonight beginning at 6 PM.
In unfinished business, the council will hold two public hearings:
- Adopting the 2024 Edition of the Model Traffic Code
- An Ordinance Approving the Angelview Planned Development
In new business, the council will:
- Appoint a member to the PROST Board and the Finance Committee.
- Vote on an emergency ordinance imposing a temporary six-month moratorium on applications for businesses that cultivate, process, or dispense natural medicine and healing centers in the city.
The natural medicine in question is psilocybin, or magic mushrooms. Colorado voters approved the Natural Medicine Health Act of 2022, which allows healing centers to administer this natural medicine. The moratorium will allow the city time to review and implement regulations.
