Join local and regional professional artists as they transform downtown Salida into a vibrant outdoor gallery at the Salida Chalk Festival, scheduled for Saturday, June 29, from 9:00am to 7:00pm. This exciting event, produced by the Salida Creative District and Salida Arts and Culture in partnership with the Salida Public Arts Commission, will feature artists creating 5’ x 5’ temporary artworks using chalk and pastel.
In addition to colorful murals, the festival will feature live music and concessions. Highlights include a celebration and awards ceremony at 5:30pm, with categories such as Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice. A free ChalkArt 101 Workshop will be held prior to the event, providing an opportunity for the community to learn and practice chalk art techniques.
