Robert Neal Finck, known fondly as Bob, age 91, of Salida, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on March 19, 1933, in Palo Duro Canyon in Texas.

After graduating from high school, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served in Germany. Upon returning home, he settled in Amarillo before moving to Salida, Colorado. In 1972, Bob married the love of his life, Lenna Jo Barone, at the Episcopal Church of Ascension, where they shared many years of devoted service to the Lord.

Bob built a meaningful career, retiring from the Buena Vista Correctional Complex, and owned a successful lawn sprinkler business for several years. In retirement, Bob pursued his many talents and hobbies, and lovingly cared for Lenna until her passing in 2018. He found great joy in growing vegetables hydroponically in his backyard greenhouse, a testament to his nurturing spirit.

A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Bob cherished conversations about the team’s seasons and draft picks with friends and family. His passion for sports extended to his community, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the Fighting Heart award at Salida High School, inspiring young athletes with his dedication and love for sports.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved Lenna, children Debbie Parks and Fred Finck, grandchildren Kelvin Finck and Dwayne Parks, his brothers Melvin, Harry, and Kenneth, and sisters Hellen Nelson and Virgie Hibbs. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his son Eddie Finck of Groom, Texas, and his daughter Debbie Gallagher of Salida, Colorado; granddaughters Hallie Finck, Karma Parks, Cayenne Parks, and April Tutor; grandsons James Gallagher and Adam Finck. Bob also leaves numerous great-grandchildren who will continue to carry forward his legacy of love. Additionally, Bob was a special dad and grandad to Gary Davis and his children, Carrie and Krisanne, of Texas.

Bob’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. A celebration of life will be held at the Episcopal Church of Ascension on August 24, 2024, at 10 a.m.
