A few travel notes: Beginning this month, road work will be completed on Highway 50 just east of Maysville.
A new right-hand turn lane is being constructed to accommodate trucks turning into the R.B. Pit. Construction will include shoulder work, pavement widening and lane reconfiguration. Motorists will see one-lane alternating traffic and delays of up to 15 minutes. The work is expected to be completed by the end of June.
Highway 24 remains closed between Antero Junction and Hartsel. The detour is to take Highway 285 to Fairplay then Highway 9 back to Hartsel. This section of Highway 24 is scheduled to reopen to traffic next Monday.
Also, The Colorado Department of Transportation has resumed the improvement project on Highway 50 through Little Blue Creek Canyon just east of Gunnison. Full closures and one-lane alternating traffic will be required to complete the project.
