The Cotopaxi Pirates outlasted the Caliche Buffaloes in a thriller to open the Sweet 16 round of the state playoffs.
It was a cold and blustery day on the front range, but the Pirates were able to push through adversity and earn their spot in the Elite Eight as they toppled the Buffaloes 2-1.
