The Cotopaxi girls basketball team had already punched a ticket to playing in the regional championships in Gunnison March 7th, but a game with the Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds for the district title was on the schedule first.
A slow start would nearly derail the effort, but the Pirates would reel it back in and play with the Thunderbirds for the final three quarters.
