Colorado lawmakers are considering a bill to allow local voters to raise county lodging taxes from 2% to 6%.

  • House Bill 1247 would permit lodging tax funds to support:
    • Infrastructure
    • Historic preservation
    • Land & wildlife conservation
    • Sustainable tourism
    • Additional law enforcement & emergency responders
  • Short-term rental advocates oppose the measure.
  • Counties would still require voter approval to increase taxes.
