Colorado lawmakers are considering a bill to allow local voters to raise county lodging taxes from 2% to 6%.
- House Bill 1247 would permit lodging tax funds to support:
- Infrastructure
- Historic preservation
- Land & wildlife conservation
- Sustainable tourism
- Additional law enforcement & emergency responders
- Short-term rental advocates oppose the measure.
- Counties would still require voter approval to increase taxes.
