Positive COVID-19 Case at Salida High School [Update]

Salida High School

The Salida School District confirmed that there is a positive case of COVID-19 at Salida High School.

The COVID-19 Response Team has decided to move to remote learning for the rest of the week. Because of this, the Salida School District is releasing early today (Oct. 6th) and no busses will run this afternoon. Parents must report to each school for pickup.

  • HEA and Crest will release at 1:30 pm
  • LES at 1:45 pm
  • SECC will have regular release time.

Reunification as Salida Middle School will begin at 2:15 pm today (Oct. 6). 5th and 6th grade students will be released from the East Side along Milford Street, while 7th and 8th grade students will exit via the West Side doors along State Street.

Parents are asked to bring a photo ID, and not to leave their cars. A school employee will meet each car to gather information and reunite each student with the correct parent and/or guardian.

All after school activities have been cancelled for the remainder of the week.

Chaffee County Public Health has released a letter which contains more detailed information. You can read the letter here.
