Chandler Smethers went into the state tournament with plenty of goals, but one was to break 180 during his first trip to the state tournament as a junior.
After two days, the Buena Vista Demon had finished it up with a two day total of 173, improving from his day one score of 88 with an 85 on Tuesday, aided by a back nine which saw Smethers shoot a four over par 39.
Smethers finished the tournament tied for 56th out of a field of 84.
