Meet Josiah! He is the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pets of the Week!

Cuddly, wiggly Josiah is sure to win over your heart as soon as you meet him (he has definitely won over every staff and volunteer member he’s met so far).

Josiah’s story is one that tugs at the heart… He was in the care of Roswell Animal Control for nearly two months. Due to lack of space he was at a high risk of euthanasia. In fact, there were two days during his stay at Animal Control where the facility dipped below their needed available kennels and Josiah, being the oldest resident, was extremely lucky to have not been euthanized during those times. Thankfully, Friends of Roswell Animals stepped in and saved this sweet boy’s life. They drove him all the way to Colorado Springs where our transfer coordinator Nikki met them to take Josiah in.

Josiah is now neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and ready to go home! Please consider adopting this sweet boy.

All adoptable animals receive the following services prior to adoption:

  • Spay or Neuter
  • Age-appropriate boosters
  • De-wormer
  • Vaccines
  • Microchip

The Ark Valley Humane Society is open and available by appointment only, make sure to call 719-395-2737 and schedule an appointment before coming to the shelter! If you or someone you know is in need of pet food, we have community pet food available! Just call us to arrange a contactless pick up!

Dog Fosters Needed

We’ve been seeing more owner surrenders and stray dogs brought to our doors with the warmer weather. We almost have a full dog room, which makes it hard for staff and volunteers to give each dog adequate socialization and exercise. We need your help! Would you consider fostering a dog? Even just a week helps, and gives that dog a much needed break from the kennel. If interested in learning more head to our website ark-valley.org
