Meet Dewey! She is the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pet of the Week!

Dewey is a 10 year old female Domestic Shorthair mix who was surrendered to the shelter last month when her owners could no longer care for her. During her time here she hasn’t had too much interest, it can be a lot harder to adopt out a 10 year old cat, especially when we have cute, younger kittens available. She would make a great addition to your home and is full of personality and sass that will keep you entertained! Dewey would prefer to be the only cat in your home, but lived with dogs in her previous home and would likely do well with other pups.

Since Dewey is a senior cat, she is priceless, adoption fees waived.

All adoptable animals receive the following services prior to adoption:

  • Spay or Neuter
  • Age-appropriate boosters
  • De-wormer
  • Vaccines
  • Microchip

The Ark Valley Humane Society is open and available by appointment only, make sure to call 719-395-2737 and schedule an appointment before coming to the shelter!

Dog Fosters Needed

We’ve been seeing more owner surrenders and stray dogs brought to our doors with the warmer weather. We almost have a full dog room, which makes it hard for staff and volunteers to give each dog adequate socialization and exercise. We need your help! Would you consider fostering a dog? Even just a week helps, and gives that dog a much needed break from the kennel. If interested in learning more head to our website ark-valley.org
