[UPDATE] Chowder has been adopted!
Meet Chowder! He’s the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pet of the Week!
Chowder is an extremely sweet and cuddly 1-year-old male Domestic longhair mix. The moment you walk into his room he will greet you with snuggles and purrs. Chowder does have Feline coronavirus, a common viral infection in cats. It can cause mild diarrhea, and most adult cats do not show any clinical signs, but the virus is covertly shed in feces. It can be more severe if a kitten catches this virus, so Chowder will need to be an indoor only cat in his forever home, and only live with other indoor only adult cats. This virus doesn’t pose any risk to humans or canines.
If you’re interested in adopting this incredibly sweet cat, please start by filling out an adoption matchmaker on our website or stop in to meet him! We’re open from 12 to 5 pm Monday through Saturday.
All adoptable animals receive the following services prior to adoption:
- Spay or Neuter
- Age-appropriate boosters
- De-wormer
- Vaccines
- Microchip
The Ark Valley Humane Society is open Monday through Saturday, from noon to 5 pm. Call (719) 395-2737 to schedule an appointment!
