Improvements on Oak Street between Walnut and Illinois Avenue continue. These enhancements are designed to provide a safe route along Oak Street for everyone, regardless of transportation method.
The improvements include:
- A new sewer line
- Installation of bike lanes on either side of Oak Street
- Crosswalks
- Curb, gutter, and sidewalk installation
Road users should anticipate the closure of Oak Street to through traffic while work is underway. After a winter break, the final phase of the project is expected to be completed next summer.
