A new Florence City Council was sworn in this week. Three new councilors; Matthew Stiefel, Tammy Stone and Brenda Gardner took their seats along with new Florence Mayor Steve Wolfe.
Their first order of business was the 2024 City of Florence budget. The city council’s budget priorities are infrastructure maintenance, employee recruitment and retention, and infrastructure expansion.
City Manager Amy Nasta proposed a 5% salary increase for city employees, effective January 1st, to maintain the current 80/20 for employee health insurance and increase the budget for necessary software and employee training.
In other business, Rudl Mergelman was selected as Mayor Pro Tem.
