New Chief Judge Named for 5th Judicial District

Judge Paul Dunkelman has been named Chief Judge of the 5th Judicial District which includes Lake, Clear Creek, Eagle and Summit Counties.   

Dunkelman was chosen to replace Judge Mark Thompson who pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after threatening his stepson with an AR-15 style assault rifle last summer. He was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation.  

Thompson will remain a District Court Judge overseeing a civil docket.
