Morphew Charged With Tampering With a Deceased Human Body And Possession of a Dangerous Weapon

Two additional charges have been filed in the Barry Morphew case: Tampering with a deceased human body and possession of a dangerous weapon.

On May 13th, Barry Morphew was charged with forgery and ballot fraud. He allegedly filled out a ballot in the 2020 presidential election in Suzanne’s name voting for President Donald Trump. Today the additional charges of tampering with a deceased human body and possession of a dangerous weapon were filed by 11th Judicial District Attorney Linda Stanley.

The possession of a dangerous weapon charge is related to a short rifle that Morphew allegedly owned.

New details were also released about the initial charge of attempting to influence a public servant. There are eight names listed including an FBI agent, CBI agent, District Attorney’s employee and sheriff’s deputy.

Barry Morphew was arrested on Murder in the First Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Attempt to Influence a Public Servant in connection with the murder of Suzanne Morphew on May 5th. 

Morphew continues to be held in the Chaffee County Jail on a no bond hold.
