Monarch Mountain is participating in the nationwide campaign, “Goggles for Docs.”

“Goggles for Docs” collects new and lightly used ski goggles for first responders and healthcare workers who currently do not have eye protection when treating patients with COVID-19.

Monarch Mountain is hosting a goggle collection drive beginning on Earth Day, April 22, 2020. Collection boxes will be outside the front entrances of the Monarch Mountain Outpost, Salida; CKS Main, Buena Vista and Elevation Beer Company, Poncha Springs. Collection boxes will remain available at the three locations until the demand for goggles is met.

“Collected goggles will be disinfected and packaged for shipment to area hospitals and first responders who have requested them as part of the Goggles for Docs initiative,” said Kathryn Wadsworth, Monarch Event Coordinator.

To kick off the goggle collection drive, Monarch Mountain is offering a free Monarch hat and sticker to the first fifty people who donate a pair of new or lightly used goggles at the Monarch Mountain Outpost at 123 North F Street, Salida on April 22, 2020. Donations will be collected curbside at the Monarch Outpost between 1:00 – 3:00 PM
