Buena Vista’s McGinnis Gym is set to host a special reopening ceremony tomorrow, marking the successful cleanup and renovation of this historic Brownfields site. The event will take place from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the gym located at 113 N. Court Street in Buena Vista.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Representative Brittany Pettersen, Watershed Inc., and Buena Vista School officials will be in attendance to celebrate the transformation of the former asbestos-contaminated site. Thanks to these efforts, the McGinnis Gym has been fully renovated and is ready to serve both the school district and the broader community once again.
The ceremony will include a ribbon-cutting, brief remarks, light refreshments, and an open house for attendees to explore the newly restored facility.
