Joanne Morando of Salida, Colorado announced her candidacy for District Attorney of the 11th Judicial District, which includes Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, and Park counties.
Morando currently serves as the supervising Deputy District Attorney for Chaffee County.
“I am proud and excited to be running for District Attorney,” said Morando. “I look forward to restoring public trust in the 11th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.”
Morando is a trial lawyer who has spent her career fighting for justice. Prior to the 11th Judicial District, she was a prosecutor for the 8th and 21st Judicial Districts of Colorado. She has prosecuted every type of crime, including murder, sexual assault, drug distributions, weapons crimes, and others.
In her campaign, Joanne Morando will focus on key issues of community safety, transparency in prosecution, and protecting victim rights, which she believes are critical to the health and happiness of the people of the 11th Judicial District.
