Irene Marie Carter, age 95 of Salida, passed away on June 4, 2024 at Hildebrand Care Center in Canon City, CO.
Mrs. Carter was born May 8, 1929 in Salida, CO to Theodore J. and Nellie (Starbuck) Judge. Mrs. Carter married Kenneth L. Carter on November 2, 1955 in Salida. Mr. Carter passed away on June 22, 1981. She worked most of her life as a LPN and worked many years at Columbine Manor Nursing home. She enjoyed watching the Colorado Rockies and the Atlanta Braves and taking rides around the area sometimes even on the back of her son’s motorcycle.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard James Carter, brother Ted Judge, sisters Josephine Walker and Edith Routt. She is survived by her son Lee Carter of Salida, CO. Sisters Catherine Hayden of Salida, CO and Doris Donkle of Salida, CO. Grandson David Moskal of Oklahoma and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
