Chaffee County is experiencing an alarming surge of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

Currently, at least 1 in 10 people in Colorado is infectious with COVID-19. In order to protect our healthcare system and essential emergency services, you are being asked to do your part to slow the spread of this more transmissible virus.

Wearing a mask in indoor public places, staying home when even mildly sick, and choosing to hold virtual meetings, events, and activities for the next couple of weeks will help reduce the impact that Omicron is having on our county.

It is critical that we all take Omicron seriously so that we can get through this current surge as safe, secure, and healthy as possible. If not for yourself, please help protect our local healthcare and essential service workforce.
