The Howard Volunteer Fire Department received a fire engine donation from the Eaton Fire Department.
The Eaton Fire Protection District Board of Directors decided to donate their 1992 Freightliner Engine to a department that could utilize it more than they were as a training engine.
The Howard Volunteer Fire Department was in need of newer equipment since the department is 100 percent dependent upon donations from the citizens of Howard and most of the equipment utilized by the department is aging out of service quickly. The donated engine will now be their primary first out response vehicle.
