The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced progress on structural repairs to the Highway 50 Middle Bridge over Blue Mesa Reservoir. Starting this Wednesday, the bridge will be open to all vehicles in a single-lane configuration, operating 24/7.
Traffic over the Middle Bridge will be piloted in one direction at a time, with heavier vehicles, including semi-trucks, buses, and Class A motorhomes, being released one at a time. Due to these restrictions, travelers should continue to plan for possible delays.
Final construction activities will take place during overnight hours, and those traveling overnight can expect longer wait times. The bridge is anticipated to return to normal two-way traffic before winter.
