Highway 50 Closures Over Blue Mesa Reservoir Replaced with Extended Flagging Operations
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has canceled the previously scheduled overnight full closures on Highway 50 over Blue Mesa Reservoir. Instead, CDOT will implement extended flagging operations on the U.S. 50 Lake Fork Bridge as crews carry out repair work overnight.
During these operations, approved vehicles will be allowed to cross the bridge intermittently, though motorists should expect longer wait times. Larger vehicles such as RVs, campers, motorhomes, trucks pulling trailers, semis, and commercial buses will still need to use the County Road 26 detour.
Additionally, one lane of the Middle Bridge will be open twice daily for alternating traffic, operating from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM and from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, seven days a week.
