Get ready for a fun-filled Halloween in Chaffee County with events happening across Salida, Buena Vista, and Poncha Springs.

In Salida, the Heart of the Rockies Halloween kicks off tonight with activities at Alpine Park and on F Street. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., enjoy trick-or-treating at downtown businesses, and join the costume contest in Alpine Park from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Thriller Zombie Dance will perform every 15 minutes from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on F Street between 3rd and 4th Streets. F Street will be closed from 3rd to 14th Street between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. All events are free.

In Buena Vista, the Avery Parsons Elementary Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat Street will take place on East Main Street from Beldan to Railroad throughout the afternoon. Cornerstone Church will host a Trunk or Treat from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with free hot chili, hot dogs, inflatables, games, and candy.

In Poncha Springs, Cross Roads Church invites families to enjoy a safe Halloween alternative, offering hayrides, hot dogs, and warm beverages from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
