20-year-old Herbert Lucas Scott of Salida made his first appearance in District Court yesterday on charges of Obscenity, a felony, and unlawful sexual contact, a misdemeanor.
Scott was taken into custody last Friday after agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation conducted interviews to determine circumstances surrounding allegations of an adult showing pornographic material to a juvenile at the Pony Patch at Doolittle Ranch in Salida.
Judge Patrick Murphy issued a protection order yesterday against Scott barring contact with 4 minors, consisting of victims and witnesses, along with anyone under the age of 18.
Scott’s attorney, Ernest Marquez, told the court that Scott was now living in Cotopaxi and not at Doolittle Ranch.
The prosecution asked for more time to file formal charges as the investigation is ongoing. Judge Murphy set a date for the filing of charges to September 23rd.
CBI agents are asking families to speak with their children who may have been in contact with Scott and to call a designated tip line to report any inappropriate behavior that may have occurred. The tip line number is 303-239-4148.
