Starting Monday, Oak Street in Salida will be fully closed for improvements between Walnut and Illinois Avenue. The project aims to create a safe and accessible route for all modes of transportation.
Key improvements include:
- A new sewer line
- Installation of bike lanes on both sides of Oak Street
- New crosswalks
- Curb, gutter, and sidewalk installation
The road will be closed to through traffic during the construction. After a winter break, the project is expected to be completed by next summer.
