Fatal Accident Reported on Highway 285
The Colorado State Patrol has confirmed the death of a 63-year-old woman from Shawnee, Park County, in a head-on collision on Highway 285 near Conifer last Friday night.
According to officials, the woman was driving southbound when her vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, colliding with an Xcel service truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Two children traveling in her truck and the driver of the Xcel truck sustained minor injuries and were treated.
Authorities have not released the woman’s name.
The State Patrol is requesting witnesses to the crash to contact them at 303-239-4522.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously, especially in winter conditions, to prevent such tragedies.
